The VB-Ving Tsun Martial Art Society consists of the community of teachers and trainers who are taught by Volker Boekhoff, in the spirit of Wong Shun Leung. Boekhoff had already trained the first trainers for his school at the beginning of the 90s in order to be able to guarantee good support for his numerous students. He assumed that the skill of teaching could be learned, like anything else. Extra training for the trainers was important because it meant they could represent or help each other. The way of teaching was standardized and the trainers were trained to give qualified lessons at an international level. Not every good technician/fighter is a good trainer or teacher for this reason. In the Boekhoff-Ving Tsun Martial Art Society, after the pure technical training, there is a so-called SENIOR STUDENT period in which the future trainer learns to teach.
This period includes at least 12 months of training, which is viewed as an exam. The students learn to see errors, to find them analytically... But also to distinguish what is essential from what is not. After training, the trainers are able to recognize and correct the smallest mistakes, even in large groups, within seconds. Today, after over 40 years of experience, this knowledge increases and enables students to be trained faster and better. Boekhoff trains and teaches the human subconscious. “Everything else takes too long,” he explains briefly. "The essence and most important part of Ving Tsun is explained in the first hours of training and not in the last 5 minutes after several years....."
